Where We Began...
During the holidays of 2014, Julie's daughter, Abby, asked if they could bake and decorate sugar cookies to share with their family. Having had bad experiences in the past making sugar cookies, Abby had to convince Julie this was a good idea. They borrowed cutters from a friend, who also gave Julie a recipe, and a love of cut-out cookies was born. Over the next few months, Julie began to purchase cutters and find occasions to make sugar cookies.

The first cookies Julie and Abby made together were iced with buttercream cake icing. But those first cookies were not the beautiful, smooth cookies that Julie was seeing other cookie artists make. After Christmas, Julie ran into an acquaintance that had posted some beautifully glazed cookies. Beth was so kind to share the icing recipe that she and her daughter had used. From then on, this was the recipe Julie used.

Julie created and shared cookies at Valentine's Day, at Easter and then again to celebrate a graduation. At that graduation party, a church friend encouraged Julie to offer cookies for special occasions for others to purchase. The next day, Julie's Cookies and Treats was born! Recipes have been perfected, thousands of cookies have been rolled, cut and decorated and Julie still LOVES creating new designs for her loyal customers.
